17 Times WNBA All-Star Weekend Was a Runway for Androgynous Fashion

Last week, the WNBA All-Star Game lit up the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, with Team USA facing off against Team WNBA. Team WNBA took the win with a final score of 117-109, but the real buzz started well before the game. The athletes walked the orange carpet in style, turning the “tunnel” into a high-fashion runway. From suits and streetwear to the latest in sportswear, their looks were a masterclass in androgynous fashion.

The pregame walk has been a staple in the NBA for years, with players flaunting their fashion flair as cameras follow them through arenas. Whole accounts like Leage Fits have popped up detailing the best in NBA fashion.  Now, WNBA players are bringing their own style game, using the pregame walk to show off their unique looks. Styles range from traditionally feminine, to more androgynous or masc style that are not often represented in mainstream media.  It’s not just about looking good—these fashion statements are opening new doors to brand deals and collaborations as the WNBA and women’s sports continue to explode in popularity. Many players collaborate with stylists to plan their tunnel looks, often mapping out their game-day fits days in advance and the All-Star Weekend was the perfect time to show out.

And many of these athletes are the same amazing queer athletes who will represent the USA at the Olympics in Paris
