It’s easy to think Pride has a season.
By the time July rolls around, the rainbow displays start coming down, social feeds move on to something new, and it can feel like Pride is over for another year. But that’s really only true if you’re looking at the calendar through a North American lens.
Around the world, some of the biggest and most memorable Pride celebrations are still ahead. Cities like Taipei, Buenos Aires, and Johannesburg don’t treat Pride as something confined to June, and that’s good news for travelers.
At EveryQueer, we’ve always believed the best trips are about more than checking off a bucket list. Pride might be the reason you book the flight, but it’s wandering a neighborhood you didn’t know, lingering over an incredible meal, or discovering a destination you can’t stop thinking about that makes the trip unforgettable. These are some of our favorite Pride festivals that happen after June and the destinations that deserve a spot on your travel list.
Montréal Pride
Montréal, Canada
Early August
Montréal Pride (Fierté Montréal) is one of North America’s biggest LGBTQ+ celebrations, bringing the city to life with more than a week of performances, community events, and one of Canada’s largest Pride parades. It’s the kind of festival that feels woven into the city itself, making it easy to build an entire vacation around.
And honestly, Montréal is worth the trip even without Pride. Spend your mornings lingering over coffee, wander the cobblestone streets of Old Montréal, explore the Village, and leave plenty of room for long dinners. It’s one of those cities that’s incredibly easy to fall in love with.
Reykjavík Pride
Reykjavík, Iceland
Early August
Reykjavík Pride has a reputation for being one of the world’s friendliest Pride celebrations. The city may be small, but the sense of community is anything but, with locals enthusiastically joining the festivities alongside visitors from around the world.
Once Pride is over, Iceland practically begs you to keep exploring. Chase waterfalls, soak in geothermal lagoons, drive along black sand beaches, and experience the kind of landscapes that barely seem real.
Atlanta Black Pride
Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Labor Day Weekend
Atlanta Black Pride is one of the world’s most important celebrations of Black LGBTQ+ culture, bringing together community events, entertainment, wellness programming, and opportunities to connect with people from across the country. It’s a reminder that Pride looks different in different places, and that’s exactly what makes it special.
When you’re not celebrating, Atlanta has plenty to keep you busy. Explore the BeltLine, dive into the city’s incredible food scene, visit landmarks that shaped the Civil Rights Movement, and discover one of the most vibrant queer communities in the U.S.
Taipei Pride
Taipei, Taiwan
Late October
Taiwan Pride is the largest LGBTQ+ celebration in Asia, drawing visitors from across the region and around the world. Since Taiwan became the first place in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, Pride here feels like both a celebration and a reflection of how far the country’s LGBTQ+ community has come.
Don’t rush home after the parade. Taipei rewards curious travelers with bustling night markets, unforgettable street food, peaceful temples, nearby hot springs, and enough incredible coffee shops to fill an entire itinerary.
Johannesburg Pride
Johannesburg, South Africa
Late October
Johannesburg Pride is one of Africa’s oldest and largest Pride celebrations, bringing together thousands of people for a day that’s equal parts celebration and visibility. It’s also a reminder that South Africa’s LGBTQ+ story extends well beyond Cape Town.
Use Johannesburg as the beginning of a bigger adventure. Spend a few days exploring the city’s museums, neighborhoods, and restaurants before heading to the Winelands, Cape Town, or out on safari.
Buenos Aires Pride

Early November
Buenos Aires Pride is one of Latin America’s biggest LGBTQ+ celebrations, filling the city’s streets with music, color, and an incredible sense of community. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to finally visit Argentina, this might just be it.
Stay beyond Pride and you’ll quickly understand why so many travelers fall for Buenos Aires. Long café afternoons, late-night dinners, beautiful architecture, neighborhood bookstores, and tango performances make this one of those cities you’ll already be planning a return trip to before you leave.

Palm Springs Pride

Palm Springs Pride feels like a city-wide celebration in one of North America’s most iconic LGBTQ+ destinations. Between the parade, live entertainment, and community events, it’s an easy place to settle into the festive atmosphere.
Of course, Palm Springs is just as enjoyable once the celebrations wind down. Spend a few extra days relaxing by the pool, browsing vintage shops, admiring the city’s mid-century architecture, or taking a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park.
Keep the Celebration Going
One of the best things about LGBTQ+ travel is that Pride doesn’t begin and end in June. Around the world, communities continue gathering, celebrating, and creating spaces that welcome us throughout the year.
