Heads up: in Delaware, bars typically stop serving alcohol at 1 a.m., but most will let you hang out for an extra hour to finish your drinks. Expect most places to close up by 2 a.m.

North Shores offers a tranquil escape, about a mile north of the bustling boardwalk area. It’s a favored hangout for lesbians and queer women but also welcomes a mix of other visitors. Unlike the lively Poodle Beach, North Shores maintains a quieter and less crowded atmosphere.
For those driving in, be aware that Gordon’s Pond State Park charges a daily fee of $8 for out-of-state vehicles. When you arrive, park at the far end of the lot near the picnic pavilion. The beach entrance at this end features a “dividing jetty”—lesbians and queer women generally stick to the right while men hang left. The lesbian-friendly area is situated at the north end of the beach, accessible by staying left at the dunes.
