Yes, You Can Apply (if you’re UK-based, sigh)
Get your applications and your televisions ready: BBC’s I Kissed A Girl is officially coming back for a second season, and casting is open (for UK residents only, unfortunately for the rest of us).
If you missed the buzz last year, here’s the scoop: I Kissed A Girl made history as the UK’s first-ever dating show for queer women. The setup? Ten single gals, matched based on compatibility, meet for the first time… with a kiss. That’s right. No awkward intros, no bios, no texting beforehand. Just straight to the smooch. From there, it’s a summer of romance, relationship drama, and more sapphic slow burns than a cottagecore Spotify playlist.
And now, the BBC has confirmed the show will return for another ten-episode run—and yes, you could be part of it.

Dannii Minogue is back as host and queer cupid, promising more love, chaos, and poolside confessionals. She said of the show’s return, “I Kissed A Girl was full of heart and groundbreaking for female representation on TV. The fans loved the fun, the passion and the drama.” Same, Dannii. Same.
Season one didn’t just serve great TV—it racked up accolades too. It won Best Media Moment at the DIVA Awards and picked up nods from GLAAD and the Broadcast Awards. It proved there’s a huge audience hungry for more authentic, joyful queer love stories—and we’re finally getting them.
Here’s what we know about season two:
- Applications are now open as of June 9, 2025.
- You need to be a single queer woman or nonbinary person looking for love.
- You must have the right to live and work in the UK (sorry, Americans—this isn’t our shot).
- Filming will take place in September 2025 in a dreamy Italian Masseria.
- You can apply now via the BBC’s Take Part site.
The format stays the same: ten people matched up, one kiss to kick things off, and then a whirlwind of feelings, flirting, and figuring it all out under the Tuscan sun.
Now, if you’re reading this from the U.S., you can’t apply—but don’t close the tab just yet. We still get to watch. And if season one was any indication, it’s going to be emotional, empowering, and full of those tiny moments that make queer love feel seen.
Between The Ultimatum: Queer Love coming back this year and I Kissed A Girl returning in 2026, reality dating shows are finally starting to reflect the diversity of real-life queer relationships.
So while we might not get to kiss anyone in an Italian villa (again, unless you’ve got that sweet UK work visa), we can binge season one on BBC iPlayer, fall in love with the cast, and keep refreshing Instagram for updates on who’s applying, who’s kissing, and who’s coming back to our screens next year.
Love is in the air. And this time, it’s queer, chaotic, and all ours.
