Come for the concert. Stay for the lesbian bars, slow mornings, and a few days somewhere new.
You know that moment when an artist announces a tour and you immediately check your city? Before you close the tab because they’re skipping it, take a look at the rest of the dates.
Maybe there’s a show somewhere you’ve been talking about visiting for years. Maybe your long-distance best friend could meet you there. Maybe seeing Brandi Carlile in Copenhagen sounds like a very good use of your vacation days.
We think it does.
A concert gives you something to build a trip around without having to plan every hour. Pick the show, find somewhere to stay, and leave yourself a few days for good food, queer spaces, and whatever catches your attention along the way.
These six trips follow sapphic favorites to destinations we’d happily spend more than one night in. Some work as a quick getaway. Others might finally get that bigger vacation out of the “someday” category.
See Syd in San Francisco
December 15, 2026 | The Castro Theatre

Syd at the Castro Theatre? We’d take a closer look at flights.
The singer, songwriter, and co-founder of The Internet brings the Beard Tour to San Francisco on December 15. It’s a particularly good pairing for anyone who wants their concert trip to come with time in the city’s queer neighborhoods.
Give yourself three or four nights. Spend an afternoon in the Castro, eat your way around the Mission, and save another evening for Mother, the queer womxn and femme-centered bar. Wild Side West in Bernal Heights offers a different night out, with a long lesbian history and an art-filled garden.
If women’s sports are also part of your personality, our look at lesbian bars and women’s sports bars includes San Francisco’s Rikki’s. Check what’s on while you’re in town.
The temptation will be to fit everything in. Pick a couple of neighborhoods and give yourself time to enjoy them.

See The Beaches in Niagara Falls
January 27, 2027 | OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino, Ontario

The Beaches, a hotel room, and a winter waterfall trip with your favorite person. That’s a pretty solid January plan.
The band plays OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino with special guest Renforshort on January 27. Make it a two-night escape: dinner and the concert one evening, then a day to see the falls without having to get straight back in the car.
Journey Behind the Falls stays open year-round, although winter conditions can close the lower observation deck. Bring the warm coat and choose a hotel you’d be happy to spend a lazy morning in.
If you have more vacation days to play with, add Toronto as a separate stop. The concert is on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, so keep that in mind when booking accommodation and planning your border crossing.

See Kehlani in Melbourne
February 21, 2027 | Rod Laver Arena

Some concert plans turn into a weekend away. This one could turn into the Australia trip.
Kehlani plays Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on February 21, with Destin Conrad as special guest. For U.S. travelers, that’s also an opportunity to trade a stretch of winter for Australian summer.
Give Melbourne several days. Leave room for coffee, an afternoon wandering Fitzroy and Collingwood, and a trip to St Kilda, where the Victorian Pride Centre is on Fitzroy Street. Melbourne is one of the cities we included in our guide to destinations where queer travel feels easier, with plenty of queer culture to explore around concert night.
From North America, we’d build this into a longer vacation. Arrive with enough time to recover from the flight before the show. You want to remember the concert, not spend it negotiating with jet lag.

See The Japanese House in Brooklyn
March 16, 17, 19 and 20, 2027 | Barclays Center

If The Japanese House and Gracie Abrams both live on your playlists, here’s a reason to plan a Brooklyn weekend. The Japanese House opens for Abrams across four Barclays Center dates, including a Friday and Saturday.
This is an opening set, so make sure you’re excited about the full bill before building a vacation around it. And get there early enough to see the artist you came for.
For the rest of the trip, start with coffee, bookstores, and a neighborhood you’ve been meaning to explore. Ginger’s in Park Slope is a good place to put on your evening list; our guide to NYC’s lesbian bars and queer events has more options.
You can also give the bars a night off. We’ve rounded up queer activities in NYC that don’t revolve around drinking, with ideas for finding community beyond a dance floor. Check individual calendars before making plans.

See Brandi Carlile in Copenhagen
March 26, 2027 | DR Koncerthuset

If Copenhagen has been on your list, Brandi Carlile might be the reason to finally pick dates.
Her March 26 show takes place in DR Koncerthuset’s Koncertsalen. We’d give this trip three or four nights, with time for museums, design shops, and deciding which pastry deserves a return visit the next morning.
Save an evening for Vesterbro and Vela, the lesbian bar and nightclub included in our guide to lesbian bars around the world. Check the current program and opening hours, then plan the rest of your night around what sounds fun.
March is still a bring-your-coat situation. Have some indoor plans and leave room for a long lunch if the weather isn’t cooperating.
At our October 29 research check, the venue reported only a few concert tickets remaining. Start with the show before committing to the rest of the trip.

See Tash Sultana in Auckland
April 22, 2027 | Powerstation

If you’ve been saving New Zealand for a trip with enough time to really explore, a Tash Sultana show could give you a date to work toward.
The April 22 performance is at Auckland’s Powerstation, with general admission standing tickets advertised by the promoter. At our October 29 research check, that night was on sale while April 23 was sold out.
Spend a few days in Auckland before heading onward. Make time for the city, a queer night out, and possibly a ferry trip to Waiheke Island. Our guide to LGBTQ-friendly destinations in New Zealand can help you figure out where to take the vacation next.
April is autumn in New Zealand. Build in some flexibility for weather and resist the urge to turn a big trip into a race between stops. The concert already gives you one evening you don’t have to plan.

Book the show, then give yourself a vacation
Get your concert ticket through the artist, venue, or authorized seller before committing to flights and hotels. Ticket availability changes, and a VIP upgrade isn’t always admission to the show.
Then give yourself a little time on either side. Have breakfast somewhere good. Visit a local queer business. Spend an afternoon with no plans before you need to be at the venue.
And if your ideal trip involves several days of music, pool parties, and community, our guide to lesbian festivals around the world has plenty more ideas.
